Proposal for Brazilian Cooperative Compliance System - TEI Comments
On June 10, 2024, TEI sent a letter to the Brazilian tax authorities recommending Brazil adopt a cooperative compliance program with taxpayers. TEI noted the advantages of such a program include providing tax authorities with transparency and taxpayers with certainty, improving the risk assessment process, and assist the Brazilian tax authorities in implementing Brazil's new transfer pricing legislation, among other things. LATIN AMERICA TAX COMMITTEE
The Latin America Tax Committee covers all matters related to direct and indirect taxes in Latin America, and sets TEI's advocacy agenda for countries within these jurisdictions. The Committee comments on legislative and administrative proposals and coordinates formal and informal meetings with government officials to discuss recent initiatives. The Latin America Tax Committee also works closely with the Latin America Chapter to host in-person and virtual meetings discussing recent tax developments in Latin America.
