Whether you're looking to commit a few extra hours for a local program, have an advocacy issue you'd like TEI to comment on, or are interested in getting involved in TEI leadership, there are ample opportunities to get involved at all levels within the organization. Involvement in TEI will enhance the value of your membership, and benefit both your company and your own professional development.
- Develop your network of colleagues with strong working relationships with other volunteers. You'll create connections with colleagues across the Institute who face similar issues and willingly share their insights, ideas, and perspectives.
- Gain insights into tax proposals and guidance or monitor legislative proposals, identify technical or policy issues ripe for comment by TEI. Participating in TEI’s advocacy process will deepen your technical knowledge on issues of particular interest to your employer. You may also have the opportunity to meet with government officials at chapter and Institute-level liaison meetings or follow-up meetings on particular projects. Those relationships can benefit you for years.
- Develop new skills working on educational programs, advocacy projects or participating in a chapter or Institute-level board. Enhance your knowledge of new or unfamiliar issues. You can also hone your writing and analytical skills, as well as enhance your management and leadership skills.
