TEI's December Diversity and Inclusion Moment

This month the DEI group met with two professionals that help boards create a diverse and inclusive culture within their organizations. They aid the boards in creating a succession plan that builds diversity into the process of acquiring future board members. They reiterated with us the importance of organization culture and the success of DEI initiatives. Without the right culture DEI initiatives are more apt to fail. This really got us thinking what the definition is of organizational culture. What is TEI’s culture and how do our members feel about it?

Organizational culture is defined as the underlying beliefs, assumptions, values and ways of interacting that contribute to the unique social and psychological environment of an organization. Essentially, how do our members feel about being involved with the organization? Does the culture of our organization instill and inspire diversity, equity, and inclusion? For us to answer these questions, we need to hear from our members. We need to have a starting point, a baseline if you will, to measure from, to grow from, and to create achievable goals.

To generate this baseline, we ask you to participate in our voluntary survey. This survey is completely anonymous and none of the information will be shared outside of the organization. The DEI group values your opinion and will use this information to ensure TEI fosters a diverse and inclusive culture.
